Apprenticeships

The Apprenticeship Frameworks have been designed to allow employers to recruit an Apprentice or develop their current staff by combining technical knowledge with practical skills. Typically, Apprentices are aged between 16 – 23 but in some cases they can be older depending on your requirements.

Apprenticeship Grant for Employers

On 16th November 2011, the Government announced a new incentive to encourage thousands of small companies who don’t already employ an Apprentice to recruit one between the ages of 16 – 24 years old. It is available for employers with up to 50 employees and is a payment of £1,500 payable in one payment after a qualifying apprentice has completed 13 weeks ‘in-learning’. This funding will be available to companies in all industries and for Apprenticeships at all levels. For further information please refer to the Employer Fact Sheet.
